About us
Building Blocks Academy is an inclusive childcare center located in Highland Heights, Ky. Our mission is to create a sensory rich environment that is inclusive to typical developing children and children with developmental delays. At Building Blocks Academy we believe that every child should be treated as a whole and not be expected to fit a mold that typical child care centers expect.
The owner of Building Blocks Academy, Desiree, is mom to four children, one of them who has struggled with sensory issues and developmental delays. She saw a significant need for an inclusive child care center where each individual child’s needs will be met and ran with it. Desiree has been a Developmental Interventionist for the last 12 years in the State of Indiana and Kentucky. She has helped to create daily routines and set up environments for families and childcare centers to help meet the needs of each child that she has worked with. Those same strategies will be implemented at Building Blocks Academy.
Our mission is to foster a love of learning in your little ones, through creative lesson plans and prompts while offering a sensory rich environment.
